HOW TO REACH GUWAHATI

Guwahati, the gateway to northeast, is the largest metropolis of Assam. Nature lover and Vacationers visit the city in large numbers every year to enjoy its natural beauty. As it is a popular city and also the main educational hub to the northeast, reaching Guwahati from any part of the country is not a big deal. BY Air:

Guwahati Airport, or Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, situated 25 km away from the city centre or main city. This airport links the destination with all major Indian cities. Regular flight options are available by carriers such as Air India, Air Asia, jet airways, Goair etc for cities such as Kolkatta, Bagdogra, Imphal, New Delhi, Bangalore, Agartala and Mumbai, among others. From the airport, travellers can avail a bus or prepaid taxi services to reach the desired destination in Guwahati.

By Road:

Guwahati city is well connected with several adjoining cities and towns via a number of Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) and other private buses. Several major national highways meet at Guwahati so one can easily drive from Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, West Bengal and Nagaland.

By Rail:

Guwahati railway station which is just 5 km away from the city centre, is one of the prime railheads in Assam. The station is well connected with all major Indian cities via broad rail network. Rajdhani Express, a premium train, takes about 34 hours to reach Guwahati from New Delhi. From Guwahati station, the traveller can take cabs or taxi to reach the city.   



 By cars and Bikes: Anyone who is interested in road trips can also visit Guwahati by a well-connected road from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta and many other cities.
